Shipping policy

1. Scope
This Shipping Policy applies to all orders placed through kkumi.com.au and forms part of our Terms of Service. It should be read together with our Returns & Refunds Policy. Unless stated otherwise, all times are Australian Western Standard Time (AWST) and all prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD).
2. Order Processing & Dispatch
In-stock orders placed before 3:00pm AWST on a business day are dispatched the same business day. Orders placed after that time, or on weekends or Western Australian public holidays, are dispatched on the next business day. By dispatched we mean your order has been packed and handed to Australia Post for delivery — we email your tracking number at that point. Australia Post may not scan your parcel into its network until later that day or the next business day, so it's normal for tracking to show no movement at first; this is not an indication that something has gone wrong.
Same-day dispatch applies to in-stock items only. Orders containing out-of-stock items are handled under Section 09 (Out-of-stock Items).
3. Australian Delivery
Orders within Australia are shipped via Australia Post. Delivery estimates shwon at checkout are provided by Australia Post and are not guaranteed. They run from the date your order is dispatched, which for most in-stock orders is the same day you order; where dispatch is later — for example, orders placed after our 3:00pm cut-off, on weekends, or public holidays, or orders containing out-of-stock items — the estimate runs from that later dispatch date. Nothing here limits any non-excludable right to delivery within a reasonable time under the Australian Consumer Law.
Standard delivery is free on Australian orders valued at $50 or more after any discounts; express delivery is free on Australian orders valued at $65 or more after any discounts. Shipping charges are assessed on the final cart value after discounts, so an order reduced below a free-shipping threshold by a discount does not qualify for that offer. Delivery is available to residential and business address, PO Boxes, and 24/7 Parcel Lockers within Australia.
4. International Delivery
Orders are shipped internationally via Australia Post and its partner carriers. Delivery estimates shown at checkout are provided by the carrier, are not guaranteed, and may be extended by customs processing in the destination country.
Shipping charges are:
- New Zealand: a flat rate, confirmed at checkout.
- All other destinations: calculated at checkout by destination, order weight, and chosen service.
Tracked delivery is available to all destinations. Estimates reflect delivery between major metropolitan areas; regional and remote destinations may take longer. Free shipping applies to Australian orders only (Section 03) and does not apply to international orders.
5. Customs, Duties, & Import Taxes
Prices for Australian orders are shown in Australian Dollars and include any GST we are required to charge.
For international orders, the prices and shipping charges shown at checkout do not include import duties, taxes (such as VAT or GST), or customs handling fees imposed by the destination country. Except where we are required by law to collect such charges at the point of sale — in which case the amount payable will be shown at checkout before payment — these charges are the customer's responsibility and are generally payable to the carrier before the parcel is released.
Customers are responsible for checking the import requirements of their own country before ordering. As duty-free thresholds for low-value imports have been reduced or removed in a number of countries, import charges may apply regardless of order value.
Where a parcel is refused or returned to us because import charges were not paid, any refund will be limited to the value of the goods, less the original outbound shipping cost.
6. Authority to Leave & Liability
Risk in the goods remains with us until the order is delivered to you or your nominated address. If an order is lost or damaged in transit before delivery, we will provide a replacement or refund.
Australian orders are dispatched with Authority to Leave by default. Where Authority to Leave applies, Australia Post may leave the parcel in a safe place if the recipient is not present; where no safe place is available, the parcel is held at the nearest Australia Post outlet for collection. By selecting standard delivery— rather than Signature on Delivery, a free 24/7 Parcel Locker, or a PO Box — you authorise delivery without a signature and accept the risk of loss or theft once the parcel has been delivered.
Once Australia Post records an order as delivered to the nominated address, including by Safe Drop, responsibility for the parcel passes to you, and we are not liable for parcels lost or stolen after a recorded delivery. If tracking shows delivered but the parcel hasn't arrived, contact us (see Section 07) and we'll investigate with the carrier. Customers without a secure delivery location are encouraged to select Signature on Delivery, or to ship to a free 24/7 Parcel Locker or PO Box.
7. Lost or Delayed Parcels
If tracking hasn't updated, or your order hasn't arrived within the estimated delivery window, please contact us at hello@kkumi.com.au. We will lodge an enquiry with the carrier and help resolve it. The sooner you let us know, the sooner we can act.
8. Incorrect Addresses
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address at checkout. Orders typically cannot be redirected once dispatched. Where an order is lost or returned to us because of an incorrect or incomplete address, we will reship it once it is returned to us, at your expense.
9. Out-of-Stock Items
Where an ordered item is temporarily out of stock:
- Held orders (default). We hold the order and ship it in full once the out-of-stock item is available. This may mean a delay of up to two weeks.
- If the delay will be longer than two weeks, we will email you with your options: keep waiting; have the in-stock items sent now with the out-of-stock item to follow (split dispatch, subject to payment of an additional delivery fee for the second shipment); or have the out-of-stock item refunded and the rest of the order dispatched now (partial dispatch). If we don't hear back within 48 hours, we will refund the out-of-stock item and dispatch the remainder.
10. General
Operating hours. Orders are packed between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, excluding Western Australian public holidays.
Peak periods. During high-volume sales or holiday periods, same-day dispatch may be temporarily suspended.
External delays. Delivery may be subject to additional delay during extreme weather events or other carrier-side disruptions outside of our control.
